Automated Generation of Examination Problems and Their Detailed Solutions

Summary:

The presentation deals with using software tools to automagically develop test and examination problems. The key issue is that setting large problems up is complicated and time-consuming with a large chance of errors or missing important cases. Currently, Huffman coding, linear block codes, and Viterbi decoding problems have been implemented and examples will be shown. The presentation also discusses how using LaTeX (and packages) makes it far easier to create diagrams than one might expect. The presentation will also cover other motivations like how the presenter first tumbled to this idea, and other considerations such as how having a high-quality memorandum is useful.
