Mr. Daniel de Kock, Chief Technology Officer of RIoT Company in Johannesburg will give a talk on development of a Cognitive Radio spectrum monitor (channel occupancy sensing system), as well as background on the end-nodes that he has done in past projects. The presentation will have good bits of FPGA work, embedded work, Linux work, distributed computing, asynchronous sensing, unreliable networks, and R&D. It is development journey of the sensing system from prototype to TV whitespace channel monitor to generic spectrum sensing.
